What could be the reason for the unusually high bandwidth usage during the first months of my new subscription?

Your public videos and live streams are watched all the time by viewers on various outlets (on CROSS.TV, on your websites, on the Online Media Campus) and also the development of OTT / ConnectedTV Apps such as Roku, FireTV, AndroidTV, AppleTV etc., and the development of iTunes/Google Play Podcasts, mobile apps as well as other publishing properties can accumulate views at the same time - both during Lightcast's development process and caused by the different platforms' review work, as well as caused by viewers who subscribe and download your new TV Apps, Podcasts, mobile apps, etc.

Especially in the first few weeks, most of the publishing platforms highlight newly published Apps, which can cause a higher number of views and bandwidth than compared with the numbers after a few months went by. Some of our clients market their new Publishing Properties via Newsletters or put links on their website, which encourages viewers to watch their content. These can cause higher numbers in the beginning.

We recommend to watch the Media Stats in your Lightcast.com account during the next few months and see how they develop. But at the end, high numbers of views is a good sign that your content is seen and liked by a lot of viewers around the world.
