Why do my channels still consume video minutes although they are offline?

It is due to our system continuing to deliver feeds to selected OTT/ConnectedTV properties, such as Roku Apps, in order to prevent them from being removed and banned from app stores. In order to protect Client's assets, our system lends publishers bandwidth in the amount of up to 25,000 VM, resulting of the VM account balance falling below 0 by that amount. This is for the protection of our publishers, their apps, their viewerships and approved positions in app stores.

If Lightcast.com did not care about its Clients, their assets and their viewerships the way it does, bandwidth usage would be cut-off hard at a 0 VM bandwidth balance and at the moment of channel deactivations due to overdue invoices not being paid or other reasons. We care for our Clients and their business and media initiatives so much, that we would front more bandwidth to Clients who are already behind with payments or have a negative video minute balance. Please note that only selected OTT/ConnectedTV properties will continue to receive media feeds below a 0 VM balance and during deactivate stage of channels.
