I uploaded a video via the Web Uploader in my Lightcast.com account but the status of the video upload is still "in work". What can be the reason?

There can be several reasons why the status of your video is still "in work":

1. If the video has been fully uploaded to our servers, meaning there were no internet connection problems or network interruptions and the video uploader was not closed during the upload process, the file will be sent to our premier transcoding farm to encode 12 file formats for different purposes (mobile devices, web, smarttv/set-top-boxes,audio-only versions, various bitrates, etc. ). This can take up to 24 hours. We recommend to log out of your account and log in a few hours later to see, if the file is still "in work".

2. If the file is still "in work" after 24 hours, chances are that our servers never received the complete video file due to  an interruption in the upload process which led to the abort of your upload. Please upload the file one more time - preferably from a different network and device. Please make sure to keep all upload windows open throughout the entire upload process.

The reasons for interrupted and aborted uploads could be:

- an internet connection problem on your end: your internet was down during the upload process and the upload could not be completed
- you didn't have enough upload bandwidth available and the upload process was therefore interrupted
- you logged out of your Lightcast.com account during the video upload which immediately stopped the upload process
- you closed the video upload window by accident, which also stops the video uploader from uploading your file to our servers
- your video file is larger than 3GB. The file size limit for the Web Uploader is 3GB. If you would like to upload files larger than 3GB, please use the FTP Server. A FTP Server Account can be ordered anytime at customercare@lightcast.com. More information on the FTP upload service: www.lightcast.com/services/upload-service

Tipps & Recommendations:

Please make sure to use a cable to connect to your internet router rather than a wireless router. Please also make sure to have sufficient bandwidth available.

Please re-upload one of the files again and check on the compliance with recommended video formats as listed on the video upload page (h.264 encoded MP4, ideally under 1GB per file and a maximum of 3GB per file), as well as having Java installed when using the Jave uploader.

After the upload was successful and was completed, wait for 24 hours until the transcoding process is completed and your video is available for publishing
